Qualifying a government Exam is like a dream come true for everyone. It is because of the good pay, better working conditions and job security. RRB Group D examination

Every year, Railway employs the largest number of individuals. Therefore the Railway exams are easy as compared to the other competitive exams in India.

Every year, Railways issues notifications for Group D job recruitment. The positions that fall under the group D category are:

  • Cabin man
  • Welder
  • Gatekeeper and so on.

The Railway Group D exam is conducted in 2 stages. This competitive exam consists of two stages in total

  1. Computer Based Test
  2. Physical Efficiency Test

The computer based Test is held for 90 minutes. It is further divided into four sections

  1. General English
  2. Numerical Ability
  3. General Intelligence
  4. General Awareness

All these four sections contain 25 questions each and all of them hold 25 marks ie.., 1 mark for each question. The exam is worth 100 marks.

If you would be hired in the Group D, your initial salary would be Rs. 18000/- Along with this, the department also provides you with HRA (House Rent allowance), DA (Dearness allowance), OTA (Overtime allowance) and so on.

After you have completed your three year service in the Group D department, you would be promoted to the Group C department.

RRB NTPC

This recruitment is also associated with the Railway department. It is one of the major recruitment by the Indian Railway.

This position offered by the RRB NTPC is non- technical.

The NTPC recruitment consists of the following four stages.

  1. Computer-Based Exam (Tier-1)
  2. Computer-Based Exam (Tier-2)
  3. Skill Test
  4. Document Verification & Medical Examination

The first Tier Computer based exam has three sections ie.., Numerical Ability, General Intelligence and General Awareness. The Numerical ability and General Intelligence section consists of 30 questions each and each section is worth 30 marks. The General awareness section has 40 questions of worth 1 mark each. You would be granted 90 minutes to finish this exam worth 100 marks.

The Second Tier Computer exam has three sections in the same way the previous exam has. The first two sections are of 35 marks each with 35 questions each. The last section has 50 questions worth 1 mark each. The exam would be worth 120 marks and would be held for 90 minutes.

On an average scale, RRB NTPC pays around Rs.19,900. Other allowances such as, HRA, DA are added to the monthly salary making a total sum of Rs.30,000/- to 40,000/-

SSC (Multi-Tasking Staff recruitment)

SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission. It is one of the first agencies in India that recruit candidates for government jobs every year. The major recruitment by SSC are SSC CHSL, SSC CGL and SSC MTS.

The eligibility criteria for this exam is just 10th pass. So any individual who is 10th pass can go for the SSC MTS recruitment..

The recruitment criteria for SSC MTS consists of two stages :

  1. CBT exam
  2. Descriptive test.

The CBT exam has four varied sections with 25 questions each : General English, Numerical Ability, General Intelligence, General Awareness.. The total time allotted to the candidates for the completion of this exam is 90 minutes. And this exam is for 100 marks in total. For the Descriptive Test you would be asked to write an Essay or a letter within 30 minutes. This exam holds 50 marks.

If you get hired as a MTS, you would be paid around Rs.18,000/- to Rs.22,000/- per month. You would also be provided allowances such as HRA, DA, TA and so on. After you have served in the department for 3 continuous years, you could apply for promotion.

SSC CHSL

CHSL stands for Combined Higher Secondary examination. It consists of the following three stages in total.

  1. Tier 1 : This exam would be computer-based.
  2. Tier 2 : This Tier is a description based test
  3. Tier 3 : This Tier would be a skill based test.

This examination is divided into four sections, namely General English, Numerical Ability, General Intelligence and General Awareness. All these sections consist of 25 questions each and every section holds 50 marks each. The total marks for this examination is 100 and the total time provided for you to complete this exam is 60 minutes.

The pay of a SSC CHSL employee is around Rs.36,500/- for a month. This post is eligible for promotion as well. After completing your 5 years of  service in the department, you can apply for promotion. Along with your monthly pay you would be given an additional pay of Rs. 25,500/- for basic allowances.

SSC Stenographer

SSC Stenographer is the most preferred exam on this list after the SSC MTS & CHSL examination.

This post offers a well pay and the workload is low as well. Because of these two qualities, this exam is preferred by many candidates.

The selection process involves two stages :

  1. Tier 1 exam
  2. Skill test

Tier one Exam consists of three sections : English Language, General Intelligence and General Awareness. The first section consists of 100 questions and the other two sections consist of 50 questions each. Every question in the exam holds 1 mark. The total time provided to you for completing this exam would be 120 minutes.

The Basic Pay in this department is from Rs.5,200/- to Rs.34,800 /-. Along with this, allowances would also be provided. If you get hired as a stenographer you have chances of getting promoted to higher posts such as the Senior Principal or Private Secretary in the central service.

IBPS clerk Examination

IBPS is an organization which conducts exams for the banks of  the Public Sector in India. All the exams at the clerk level are easy to crack as compared to the other posts.

The recruitment process in IBPS includes three tiers :

  • Prelims
  • Mains
  • Language proficiency test.

Prelims

The Prelims Exam has three sections, namely English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. The first section compromise of 30 questions for which you would be given 20 minutes to attempt. The seconds and the third section include 35 questions each. You would be allotted 60 minutes in total to complete this exam.

Mains

The mains exam consists of four sections : English Language, Reasoning Ability and General/ Financial Awareness. The first section consists of 40 questions of 1 mark each. The second, third and the fourth  section will have 50 questions each. The whole exam is worth 200 marks. The total time allotted for completing this exam is 2 hours and 40 minutes.

If you get hired as an IBPS clerk, your pay would range from Rs. 11,765/- to Rs.31,540/-. For the IBPS post you would also be provided additional allowance including HRA, DA and so on.  

IBPS  Specialist Officer

Eligible candidates can apply for different vacancies including Agriculture Officer, Law Officer etc. The IBPS Specialist Officer is another important recruitment conducted by the IBPS, every year. The Eligible candidates have an option to apply for any of the provided vacancies, including Agriculture Officer, Law Officer and so on.

The average pay of a IBPS SO officer is around Rs.23,700/-. After including the additional allowances such as DA, HRA, this pay would rise up to Rs. 35,000/- per month.

If you get hired as a SO officer there are chances for you to get promoted to the post of General Manager. This could be done through internal promotions or some  exams.

Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET)

Every year, CBSE or the Central Board Of Secondary Education conducts an examination. This exam is famously known as CTET. The purpose of this exam is to teachers in government schools and institutions.

The CTET exam is conducted twice every next year. There are two reasons because of which, this exam is preferred over other competitive exams : One, because it doesn't have negative marking. Two, because the results of this exam are valid for the next 7 years.

The CTET examination includes two sets, namely Paper 1 and Paper 2.

The first Paper has includes the following five sections :

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy
  2. Language 1 : Note that this section is Compulsory
  3. Language 2 : Note that this section is Compulsory as well
  4. Mathematics
  5. Environmental Studies

Each of these sections have 30 questions holding 1 mark for each question. You would be asked to complete this exam in  150 minutes . This exam is of 150 marks.

The second Paper consists of the following four sections :

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy
  2. Language 1 : Note that this section would be compulsory for all candidates
  3. Language 2 : This section would also be compulsory
  4. Mathematics/Science or Social Science/ Studies : In this section you have a choice. You can choose either of these two.

The first three sections have 30 questions each and the last section will have 60 questions. Each question would be worth 1 mark. The total time allotted for this examination is 150 minutes.

If you get hired as a teacher, you would be paid around Rs.9,300/– to Rs.34,800/-. Along with this, allowances would also be provided.

ADO or the LIC Apprentice Development Officer

LIC is a government insurance company. It is known as one of the most profitable one in India.

In the insurance sector, the Apprentice Development Officer is the easiest exam to crack down as compared to the other competitive exams.

The Recruitment process consists of 3 stages in total.

  1. Prelims
  2. Mains
  3. Personal Interview

Most of the competitive exams in the insurance sector have the negative marking system. But contrary to this, the ADO exam doesn't have any sort of negative marking in both of the prelims and the mains exams.

The Prelims exam Pattern

It consists of three sections, namely English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. You will have 20 minutes for each of these sections or in other words, you have 60 minutes in total for completing the exam. The English Language section has 30 questions, Reasoning ability section has 35 questions and quantitative aptitude section also has 35 questions. Each question is worth 1 mark and the whole exam is worth 100 marks.

It should be noted that English is not a qualifying language in this exam. Therefore it would be a relief for candidates who struggle with English language.

The Mains Exam Pattern

This exam also consists of three different sections. The sections include,

  1. Reasoning and Numerical Ability
  2. Financial and Insurance Awareness: This section holds a special focus on LIC
  3. General Awareness and  English Language: This section focuses majorly on Grammar and Vocabulary.

Each of these sections consists of 50 questions each holding 1 mark. The whole paper holds 150 marks.  And you would be provided 120 minutes to finish your exam.

Initially, while working with LIC as ADO, you would be paid Rs. 21,875/- After adding the  other allowances and the HRA, DA and the other allowances, your pay would reach up to Rs. 38,000/-

Once you have finally completed a whole year in the ADO department, you would be promoted to the  higher department as a Probationary Development Officer. State PSC examination
